Let’s Eat Local – Post Office Tea Rooms

As part of The Big Jubilee Lunch at Marine Quarter, the delightful Post Office Tea Rooms were offering some delicious and thematic treats on their Great British menu.

This Is Hastings opted for a couple of Jubilee Picnics – each containing a classic lawn party sandwich (corination chicken / cucumber) a tub of strawberries and cream, a jubilee cupcake, all with a refreshing bottle of water to wash it down with.

The picnics were served up in brown paper bags, with which to wander down to the main gathering of Big Lunchers, but having passed through just before, there was not a spare seat in sight!

Instead, This Is Hastings pitched up right outside the Post Office Tea Rooms and admired the festivities from afar.

Along with the picnic bags, an authentic cream tea (a pot of Earl Grey along with scones, cream and jam) was added to the mix.

With the sun shining, and bellies full with jubilee goodness. This Is Hastings left the Post Office Tea Rooms happy and well fed. Sure to return to sample the array of tasty, non-queen-themed eats.
