Let’s Eat Local – Smiths

After a silent night at The Brass Monkey, This Is Hastings awoke in need of some morning nourishment. We scoured the streets of Hastings and St. Leonards and fell upon the fine dining establishment that is Smiths.

Since the sun has gone away, we were in need of a vitamin boost – which was kindly delivered in the form of two freshly squeezed juices (Apple & Pear / Apple, Carrot & Ginger) As the liquid health quenched our lips our tender souls, we next needed something to fill the cavernous void left expectant from a prior Easter day’s gorge.

We ordered a poached egg medley – accompanied by either kippers or bacon. Both served on hearty granary toast – all the time accompanied by an interesting jukebox playing out such breakfast hits as Ellie Goulding’s “Starry Eyed” (?)

Thank you Smiths, for being not only open but delicious. Something to savour on such a grim bank holiday.
