Looking Forward – ‘Protest Cakes and Friendship Bakes’ and ‘The Share Blanket Unplugged’

This Is Hastings isn’t entirely sure as to how the weekend is suddenly upon us, but upon us it is!

The Stade is the place to be this Saturday, with a double headed event from Crafternoon Tea Club!

From 1pm – 4pm at The Stade Hall, you are invited to don your pinny and get deliciously subversive!

Protest Cakes and Friendship Bakes offers an afternoon of art, radical craft, DJs & tea – decorate cakes DIY style with messages of friendship and political protest, which will be hand delivered to unsuspecting recipients…

Bring your own cake (and a pinny!) – preferably home-made and covered with some firm icing (fondant or glace is good) – or use one of ours (baked by the Wonky Women’s Institute of St Leonards!) – Crafternoon will supply the rest!

From 7.30-9pm you are invited to gather in the Stade Open Space with a blanket and a picnic to enjoy a feast of traditional tales, local food and music.

The Share Blanket Unplugged wants to celebrate the simple things in life – a good tall tale or a strum on a guitar, all are welcome to get involved in what promises to be an incredibly unique and spontaneous experience.

Both events are perfectly family friendly – free of alcohol and free of charge!
