The Stade Saturdays programme is proving to be a consistently enjoyable and entertaining way to spend a Saturday evening – all for free!
After last week’s Sharing Blanket Unplugged “happening” the order of service was somewhat different with the jazzy stylings of the Lianne Carrol Quartet taking to the stage within The Stade open space.
The stage, pitched up next to the Jerwood Gallery was completely dominated by local jazz music songstress Lianne Carroll, with her stunning voice resonating across the entire Old Town.
Breaking out jazzy interpretations of classic hits such as Son Of A Preacher Man, My Baby Just Cares For Me and Fever, and throwing in humorous improv and banter in between (even stopping to provocatively pose for the This Is Hastings camera)
The other trio, of the quartet (a few familiar faces from Beatles Day) complimented Lianne perfectly – having as much fun on stage as the audience below.
As the rain clouds rolled in towards the end of the set – collars were popped, and brollies unsheathed, but spirits weren’t dampened. The lucky attendees got to enjoy an exceptional local talent doing her award winning stuff!
