This Is Hastings donned its lacy undergarments and headed up to the Le Singe en Laiton (The Brass Monkey) for some saucy fun at the Moulin Rouge Fancy Dress Night.
The interior was transformed into a circus of debauchery fitted out with ribbon cages and a dancing pole positioned around the stage, with folks from The Electric Carnival Clubnight spinning all the right tunes.
This Is Hastings caught up with lovely Andi from Active Cherry, who explained the subtle nuances of burlesque – the skillful art of teasing while not fully revealing all, while always remembering its foundations in comedy.
As Hastings’ Cajun favourites The (faux) Cajun Dawgs took to the stage with there bordello beats, they were accompanied by some incredibly impressive pole acrobatics and cheeky dance moves from Andi & co. The Dawgs as per usual, were on top form (although focus was slightly pulled by the scantily clad temptresses scurrying around!)
By 1am the burlesque antics were diluted by the regular Saturday-night crowd arriving, but the fun and frolics of what came before could very much justify its own regular club night …
