With such beautiful weather on our shore line this Sunday, This is Hastings couldn’t resist a stroll along the promenade and a spot of shopping at the Vintage Fair at Azur in St Leonards.
Organised by Red Rose Vintage just down the road in Bexhill the fair saw sellers from the surrounding areas came together to showcase their finest gems. From rare objects such as a coming out dress from 1910 and the vintage powder compact complete with authentic swan down face puff to rows and rows of clothes, furs, jewellery and home-ware.
So much more than just a sale, the added extras of the TV screens showing old movies, along with nostalgic gramophone music and the retro tea room serving cakes and snacks really added to the experience.
There was also a fantastic catwalk show, a brilliant way to reveal some of the best finds amongst the hundreds of items on sale.
So much more than clothes and shoes the fair incorporated beautiful millinery, handmade craft items and home-ware including adorable picnic hampers, and china plates. This is Hastings even came across a jacket that was embroided with scenes from the Bayeux Tapestry – how very 1066.
With prices ranging from £4 for beautiful picture frames and accessories to clothes priced £10 up (some very up) there was plenty for all budgets. The Vintage Fair at Azur will return on the 24th June and it comes highly recommended
